Volunteer Roles

The VIBC Society is always looking for interesting, clever, energetic volunteers to be a part of our team.

As a volunteer run, not-for-profit society we have many opportunities available for volunteers seeking organizational or event roles.

Committee Volunteer Roles

We are looking for volunteers to assist in the planning and preparation for our activites. These roles require on-going commitment and dedication to meetings as well as weekly time commitments.

• Communications - Copy writing, web content management and editing.
• Performer Services - Hosting, ongoing correspondence and coordination with performers.
• Information Technology - Systems administration, webmaster and data management.
• Marketing - Graphic design and production coordination.
• Fundraising - Coordination of corporate sponsorship, individual donors and grants.
• Events & Logistics - Scheduling, budgeting, coordination and management.
• Volunteer Services - Planning events, recruiting, making people feel good!

Event Volunteer Roles

Event volunteers are only required to show up to orientation dates and their scheduled work hours during an event. These roles require little or no on-going commitment, but 100% commitment on the day of the event!

• Team Liaisons - Hosting and coordinating during Bhangra Competition.
• Event Volunteers - Assisting teams in running events.
• Street Teams - Guerilla marketing, flyering, postering, flash-mobbing and promoting.

A Developing Relationship

Everyone will be given the opportunity to showcase and advance their skills for personal growth or career development. VIBC has committed to provide the opportunities our volunteers need to gain valuable work experience in positions and areas that interest them.

We also strive to create a family atmosphere amongst VIBCers. Annual barbecues, social nights and general camaraderie are the norm for our group.
