Sustainability

The VIBC Society understands the implications of our actions in our physical environment. While it is important to provide for our local communities, we must be conscious of the state of our global community.

The VIBC Society has taken the challenge to become a zero net carbon impact organization by becoming a sustainable organization. We will be following the principles of sustainability by reusing, reducing and recycling all consumables, as well as partnering with organizations who also follow the principle of sustainability.

In order to be a solution to the problem, there are many steps we can take in order to help our environment:

1) Recycle! We can save on waste going into landfills by recycling the paper we use. Keep a box beside your desk in order to separate paper and garbage.

2) Print double-sided. It's an effective use of paper.

3) Switch your lights, printers, photocopiers, computers and monitors off when they are not in use. This reduces the amount of energy you use. You'll also see a difference in your electricity bills!

4) Carpool! Less emissions not only help the environment, but also give you time to catch up with people during a car ride.

5) Even better - take transit! Think of the sights you can see on your way to your destination!

We can all do our part to give back. The VIBC Society is dedicated to do theirs!
