Register for NEXT Bhangra Competition

On Sunday, November 11, ten teams will compete and show Vancouver who tomorrow's Bhangra stars will be.
The VIBC presents its newest event, The NEXT Bhangra Competition, an explosive competition featuring the Bhangra dance world's emerging stars.

Open to performers aged 12-17, or students registered at an accredited high school, the competition will feature the same high standard of production experienced at the VIBC's City of Bhangra Festival events.
The NEXT Bhangra Competition takes place at the stunning Bell Centre for Performing Arts located in Surrey, British Columbia. This venue seats 1052 audience members and has state-of-the-art sound and lighting to make any performance an experience for both performers and the audience alike.

First place
$1,000 CDN and a trophy or plaque

• Special invitation to attend the City of Bhangra 2008 Opening Gala on Thursday, February 28, 2008.
• Exclusive role of being the opening act for the Opening Gala that will officially launch the City of Bhangra Festival, taking place from February 29 to March 8, 2008. The Opening Gala is a draw for prominent politicians and community figures as well as local and national media, and has been covered by Channel M, CBC Television and Radio, 24 Hours, Metro, The Province Newspaper and Fairchild Television.
• First choice for media interviews when promoting the City of Bhangra 2008 (at the discretion of the VIBC Media and Public Relations Coordinator)
• Featured at the Downtown Bhangra Concert Series on Saturday, March 8, 2008 and receive special promotion as winners of the NEXT Bhangra Competition.

$500 CDN and trophy or plaque

• Featured at the Downtown Bhangra Concert Series on Saturday, March 8, 2008 and receive special promotion as winners of the NEXT Bhangra Competition.
• Special VIP invitation to the City of Bhangra 2008 Opening Gala on February 28, 2008.

$350 CDN and a trophy or plaque

• Featured at the Downtown Bhangra Concert Series on Saturday, March 8, 2008 and receive special promotion as winners of the NEXT Bhangra Competition.
• Special VIP invitation to the City of Bhangra 2008 Opening Gala on February 28, 2008.
