Vancouver, British Columbia

Back in the 1720s, British Captian George Vancouver found himself exploring what is now Vancouver, British Columbia. She is home to a large variety of ethnic groups, 52% of which have mother tongues other than English. With such a diverse community of people living along this sunshine coast, it's not hard to find culture of all sorts in the city.

In the summertime one will find many Vancouverites soaking up some rays at some of the many beaches. Come wintertime, with the city surrounded by many ski hills (Whistler, Cypress, Grouse, Seymour), people young and old hit the slopes for a powdery day of skiing or snowboarding.

For those who prefer to shop and dine, Vancouver offers a never-ending choice of restaurants. From juicy hamburgers to spicy indian curries, she has it all. One can find lots to buy and eat in the heart of downtown along Robson St.

With the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics just around the corner, the city prepares itself to welcome guests from all over the world to celebrate.
