Bhangra Love
Volunteer Feature: Bhavan Mahal

Name: Bhavan Mahal
Specialization: Technical Support

After experiencing three years of VIBC as a spectator, Bhavan decided that he must ride the train and be a part of the experience from the inside. Also known as “super tech-guy” to some in the Society, Bhavan has become a valuable asset to maintaining the new VIBC website and all-round, everyday technical questions. He also brings his insights to meetings and provides his ideas. All of this at the age of 22!

"I chose VIBC mainly because I loved the first three competitions from 2005 – 2007; it was an amazing experience and I couldn’t get enough of the appreciation people have for Bhangra and how many people came out to watch the competitions. I’m doing the Computer Science degree program at BCIT. This is a great way for me to gain experience with a great organization."

If he’s not doing homework, or working on ways to make the website more accessible for users, Bhavan enjoys all sports and is known to get together with his boys on Friday nights until 5 a.m. (only EA NHL 08 though).
