Community

The VIBC Society strives to serve the community with a festival of events each year…but it doesn’t stop there!

The VIBC Society has developed strong relationships with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, which has resulted in creative and energetic presentations of dance and music at the annual Folk Fest. In 2007, the VIBC Society also partnered with the Harrison Folk Music Festival and the Juan De Fuca Festival of Arts to present Bhangra dance, music and workshops.

The VIBC Society presented a Bhangra dance performance for the Royal Visit to Vancouver in 2006, and is currently involved in an exciting Bhangra project with the Royal BC Museum.

Volunteerism is a key value of the VIBC Society, which is why our members are active volunteers at Ek Shandar Shaam, an annual fundraiser for BC Children’s Hospital, and the Deepak Binning Foundation Walk that benefits a variety of charities in BC.
