Following the success of last year’s groundbreaking panel, Bhangra: SHE, the festival delves deeper into an exploration of the complexity of our identities as young South Asian change-makers with Bhangra: WE. The evening event features presentations as well as panel discussions on the theme of 'Intersections’. This year's panel includes a range of progressive women artists, academics, musicians, dancers and writers.  Like last year each participant will have a short amount f time to present their work.  Following a short break the event will delve into a moderated discussion.

Moderated by Rakhi Mutta (a 2016 panel participant), topics will include: creative entrepreneurship, the diasporic arts, female identity in Punjabi music and Punjabi culture, and social media and the arts.

Featured speakers:
Rakhi Mutta (Toronto): creator of web series Anarkali, manager of Rupi Kaur and KayRay
Beya Likhari (Baltimore): singer
Sabrina (San Diego): singer
Monica Cheema (Vancouver): filmmaker
Shivani Bhagwan (Los Angeles): dancer (Bhangra Funk)
